MY HOBBY:CHESS


Introduction:
Chess it’s very interesting because you have to be very concentrated on the game.It has a direct relation to mathematics,there are uncontable strategies to play and there’s a “special language” only for chess.
It’s normally for two people and it’s considerated a mental sport.
Here,in the Basque Country,it isn’t very popular but is very all over the world.In other countries,for example in United States,they play chess on the middle of the street.From United States was Bobby Fisher,the best chess player ever been.
To play this game the material you need is only one special board of chess(like this *),one set of pieces of each color(black and white) that has: two knights,two castles,two bishops, eight pawns,a king and a queen.
The longiness of a match can be since five minutes each player up to perhaps seven hours in total.
Also there are a lot of modalities and a special clock to play(here you are *)


Instructions to play:
(Q:Do you know how to play?)The board has got sixty-four little squares.Thirty-two are white and the other thirty –two are black.The objective is to make “check mate” to the rival king.
The pieces have value:the king has an infinite value because if it is not the king,you lose.The second piece that has more valor is the queen(9 points),then the castle(5 points),after that the horse and the bishop(3 points,depending on the position)and the last,the pawns(1point).
The knights move in “L” form to all the sides.They can jump up the other pieces and it doesn’t matter the color of the piece that jumps.
The castles move in vertical or in horizontal and doesn’t deapen how many squares moves in.
The bishops move in diagonal form but always in the diagonal that correspons to his color(each player’s bishops have a diagonal when the match starts).
The pawns go forward one square except when is in his starting position,that can go two squares forward.If one pawn arrives to the end,he transforms in a knight,a castle,a bishop or in a queen;the piece you want.
The queen can move in diagonal,like the bishops;or in vertical or in horizontal,like the castles.
The king can move to all the directions but he goes square by square.
All the pieces eat the rival pieces the same way that they move around the board but the eating way of the pawn is different.The pawn eats the rivals moving one square in diagonal.
One match is divided in three parts:the opening,the middle game and the ending.Tthree have the same importance and if you do any mistake and the opponent sees you can lose the game.


A little bit of history:
(Q:Do you know this story?)The beginning of the chess is very old,very mystical and very confusing,too.People said that was born in Rossija but it is confirmed that it’s originally from Orient,perhaps from India.It was created around the year 2500a.C.It’s a combination of other simple games.
The indian legend tolls that the inventor of chess was a person called Sissa.He was the teacher of one prince.The objective of Sissa was that if the prince had not subjets,he isn’t anyone.With this trick,Sissa was rich for all his live.In India,the experts throught that the name of the first chess game was “Chaturanga”( the four elements) or “Chatura”(four kings).Then went to Persia in some caravans of people transporting articles with the help of a lot of camels.There the name of the game canged to “Chatrang”.
The game was transforming little by little and it was more similar to the game we know today.The chess travelled around the world that’s why today is very popular.


My experience:
I started playing with only six years in the club of Santurtzi,my town.Then I continue playing because I liked a lot.This is my fifth year playing and I’m going to continue because is one of my hobbies.
I made a lot of friends playing chess around Bizkaia but not only from the club,also from another places,for example;from Gipuzkoa.
My service record is a little bit long.Here it is:I won my town’s championship five times and ones I was the second;in the PIN tournament I met the winner once,then I went third twice,another one the forth and at last I met the fifth.
In Bizkaia’s tournament my positions were: the 4th and the 3rd.In groups,I went twice champ and another one second.
I only participated once in the championship of Euskadi and my position was THE SECOND.This has been my most important price.(Q:Do you want to play a game of chess versus me?)
